Tenure Track Assistant Professor towards Associate Professor

in Computational Metagenomics and Microbial Modeling**
at the Department of Computational Biology:The Department of Computational Biology (DBC) is internationally renowned for its excellent research in the development of models to analyse complex and large-scale biological data. Within the frame of the National Centre of Competence Research (NCCR) _Microbiomes_, the DBC is looking for an outstanding junior individual whose research excels in computational metagenomics, microbial community profiling and modeling, phylogenomics or genome-scale metabolic modelling. The research should focus on the analyses of large-scale omics data (genomics, transcriptomics and metabolomics, etc.) or community modeling using, for example, high-throughput spatial imaging of microbes and their hosts, or other organisms.

Your responsibilities:

  • Develop an internationally recognized research program funded by external sources
  • Develop a strong collaborative research within the DBC and the NCCR _Microbiomes_
  • Supervise Master and PhD students
- participate in teaching activities by the Department.

Your qualifications:

  • PhD in biological sciences, computer science, physics or mathematics
  • A good knowledge of French or aptitude to learn it.
