Assistant professor (Tenure Track): 2 years, renewable twice, Associate professor: 6 years, renewable

Your responsibilities:

In your functions, you will have to:

Teaching (45%)
Six hours a week of teaching throughout the year in French, at Bachelor's and Master's level. Additionally supervision of Master's dissertations and PhD theses.

Research (45%)


The post-holder will pursue their own research in psychology, with a special interest in qualitative research in educational psychology or careers advice and counselling, and an interest in developing the use of 'mixed' methods in research and teaching.

They will take part in the Institute of Psychology (IP) consultation service.

They will be expected to produce high-quality publications in international journals.


The post-holder will be an active member of the Institute of Psychology (IP) and will participate in the academic activities of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences.

They will seek external funding, in particular from the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF).

Administrative responsibilities (10%)


In accordance with statutory requirements and in the name of collegiality, the post-holder will take on any administrative tasks that may be assigned to them by the Institute, Faculty, University or university decision-making bodies.

Your qualifications:

In order to complete our team, we are looking for someone with the following skills:

  • Doctorate in psychology or equivalent qualification;
  • Combined expertise in qualitative methodology and hybrid methods;
  • Proven research record in psychology in school environments or school and careers advice and counselling;
  • Experience of teaching qualitative methodological approaches;
  • Comfortable with using diverse qualitative methodological approaches and tools;
  • Expertise in various qualitative data analysis software programs;
  • Links with international networks;
  • Proficient in French and English.
