Your Role

The appointed professor will elevate the research portfolio of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science and partake in teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

They will be responsible for nurturing interdisciplinary research collaborations across various departments and affiliated institutions, thereby enhancing the University of Basel's impact on addressing intricate global challenges through AI.

Your Profile

  • We are looking for candidates with a remarkable research track record in foundation models, especially in large language models.
  • Applicants should demonstrate a strong history of interdisciplinary work, for instance in medicine or life sciences, focusing on crucial AI issues like reproducibility, safety, trustworthiness, and robustness, while exploring the theoretical and algorithmic roots of AI.
