UNEP's Economy Division supports partners across governments, private sector and civil society to develop and implement policies, strategies and practices for sustainable development.

Located within the Economy Division, the Resources and Markets Branch enhances the capacity of partners to integrate environmental considerations into economic policies and practices.

A particular focus of Resources and Markets Branch is UNEP's work related to Green Economy.


PAGE, in close coordination with the UN Economist Network and its Chief Economist, established the Green Transformation Economic Advisory Mechanism (Green TEAM) in 2021 to provide deeper support on economics to partner countries — aiming to deliver whole-of-economy transformative results and economic recovery from the impacts of COVID-19, paying special attention to shifting transformational levers, while keeping an eye on fairness and social justice.

This mechanism brings together the UN's internal economic experts — that is, economists from UN Resident Coordinator Offices (RCOs), PAGE agencies, UN Regional Economic — as well as international and national think tanks and experts to advise and inform PAGE work as a delivery mechanism for creating transformative impacts on national economies.

In forming this mechanism, PAGE is working to create a template for joint planning and delivery by both country resident and non-resident UN agencies - a component of the UN Reforms.

The Internship is for 6 months and UNPAID.

Interns work five days per week (40 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.

Responsibilities:

The intern, under the direct supervision of the Economic Affairs Officer of the PAGE Secretariat, will contribute substantively to the work of the Green TEAM.


The intern will perform the following tasks:

  • Conduct research to support the development of PAGE global analytical tools (e.g., macroeconomic modeling, data analysis and indicators, green finance) and the delivery of countrylevel activities,
  • Support the organization of global dialogues as part of the series "One UN for Accelerating a Fair and Green Economic Transformation", and other Green TEAM's meetings including the development of meeting documents and logistics;
  • Support coordination and tracking of Green TEAM's deliverables;
  • Support drafting and editing of Green TEAM's documents, power point presentations, reports, regular updates, social media and other related communication materials;
  • Support other activities as requested.
