The Centre for Climate & Nature (CNC) seeks to bring innovation and frontier approaches to help the international system be more agile and equipped to respond to today's challenges.

The Centre does this by helping the international community leverage public-private cooperation, the Fourth Industrial Revolution, systems thinking and a platform approach for improved management of the global commons.

Tackling Climate Change and leading on the Nature agenda is central to our work.

CNC is the Forum's platform to progress action on climate and nature through three key levers of change:

  • Raising Ambition by activating leaders to scale climate and nature ambition and commitments
  • Catalysing Transformation by working with partners to build, host and scale public-private initiatives that transform our economies and societies
  • Enabling Mobilisation by providing a platform to governments, innovators and other stakeholders to scale their action, innovations and solutions.
The Forum is seeking a Head, Strategic Climate and Nature Partnerships.

This role will be responsible for overseeing and further developing CNC's portfolio of Strategic Partnerships with International Organizations leading global initiatives in the climate and nature agendas and Governments working in Forum-led initiatives.

This role will act as a key interlocutor across stakeholder groups in Forum-led communities (e.g. the First Movers Coalition), and a critical contact point externally and internally to advance the Forum's climate and nature work. The incumbent will be a member of the Leadership Group within CNC.

Reporting lines and interactions


Breakdown of main responsibilities- Leading and Shaping the engagement of a core portfolio of nature/climate focused International Organizations, Governments and other key stakeholders in Forum-led Climate and Nature strategic partnerships.

This includes understanding their priorities and proactively identifying ways to support and enhance their impact through contributing to Forum activities.- Linking and strengthening connections across teams within the organization to maintain a connected and coherent agenda across the climate and nature initiatives- Providing strategic support and recommendations on the institutional collaboration on climate and nature between the multilateral system and the Forum, including exploring new engagement a/o thematic opportunities- Communicating key outcomes of team activities and contributing to internal and external awareness of the climate and nature agendas- Understanding of the key global Climate and Nature discussions and their intersection with the Forum's role as a facilitator for multistakeholder action- Ability to work at pace in collaboration with a range of stakeholders in moving from "idea" to "impact" in shaping global public-private partnerships for the climate and nature agendas- Proven track record of working with Minister-level officials, Top International Organization Officers, CEOs and other senior leaders to shape, influence and progress the climate and nature discussions through clear actions and outcomes- Clear track-record and expertise in global multilateral processes.

Experience in UN-led processes is an advantage- Successfully juggling competing priorities, with shifting parameters, to deliver to the highest standards and to agreed deadlines- Ability to work effectively across teams- Organizational skills and experience in convening multi-stakeholder convenings- Excellent cross-cultural verbal and written communication skills

Education and professional background- Master's degree in political science, innovation, climate & environment, economics or a related field of relevance for filling the position- Solid understanding of the global climate change agenda- At least 10-15 years of professional experience, with at least 5 working in multilateral processes- A broad intellectual background, with prior experience from brokering, developing and managing public-private partnerships and large-scale impacts projects- Demonstrated experience in spearheading new operations is a plus- Outstanding organization, project and team management skills- Fluency in English, additional languages are an advantage
