Global Strategic Category Manager

What's the role?:
As a Global Strategic Category Manager, you drive the implementation of strategic initiatives for the global vendor management office (VMO) for software development.
You take ownership of the VMO by setting up feasible strategies to reduce transactional work and obtain optimal quality, service, and price.
Together with your stakeholders you guide sourcing projects along the full procurement cycle to optimize spend and improve total value for Hilti.
Cross-functional and cross-category teamwork will be essential to your success.The role is based at Hilti Headquarters in Liechtenstein. Up to 25% of your work can be done remotely.

The development of software for our customers is a key strategic growth area for Hilti, for which the effective management of the VMO together with your stakeholders is critical to achieve success.

You drive the preparation and execution together with stakeholders from our global business units and global IT. You will also work in close collaboration with our team based in India.
Our global indirect procurement team is located in Schaan, Liechtenstein and Delhi, India. We have a diverse team in terms of nationalities, backgrounds, and experiences. We focus on IT, Professional Services and R&D Engineering Services, managing a spend of more than 200mCHF. Our main suppliers are SAP, Microsoft, Salesforce, AWS and Workday.

You will be amazed what the alpine life has to offer.What you need is:
- University degree in procurement, supply chain, business, IT or finance, with results in upper quartile
- 3+ years' experience in (indirect) procurement/strategic sourcing, supply chain, finance or project management in a multinational organization. Experience in managing IT and/or professional service category is a plus
- Evidence of acting as a strategic partner through influencing and interacting with key stakeholders across a matrix organization
- Proficient spreadsheet skillset
- Fluent in English; other languages appreciated
- Strong business acumen and visionary way of thinking, balanced by handson behavior: a proactive approach in identifying external trends and acting as change agent
- Strategic mindset with result orientation, as well as strong facilitation and negotiation skills. Effective communication skills, including the ability to structure clear presentations and simplify a financial message for nonfinance stakeholders
- The drive to consistently outperform and exceed targets, combined with a strong passion for people actively seeking to develop yourself & others
