Job Description

The Data Quality Specialist applies best practices and tools to assess data quality, formulating action plans to ensure data reliability, completeness, and consistency. This role collaborates with the Data Governance team to enforce governance policies throughout all R&D business functions and uphold compliance with necessary data standards.

Tasks:

  • Data Quality Specialist collaborates closely with data creators, stewards, consumers, and IT to guarantee data usability, timeliness, strength, trustworthiness, and compliance. Focusing on the end-to-end data cycle, from origination/acquisition to utilization and value creation, to define global and local data quality dimensions, regulations, and metrics.
  • Assist regional data owners, stewards, and subject matter experts in data standardization, cleansing, and migration tasks
  • Adjust Data Quality regulations and policies to align with evolving data environments and domains
  • Leverage data quality best practices to devise and sustain policies, methodologies, guidelines relating to data quality, profiling, cleansing, and KPI/metrics definitions
  • Cooperate with relevant stakeholders to enforce applicable data quality regulations and ensure their implementation
  • Adopt and manage governance tools to supervise data quality and compliance, facilitating reconciliation and verification processes.
  • Work with business users to identify attributes necessitating data quality enhancement and corresponding business regulations. Scrutinize data, interpret user requirements, and enforce business rules in data quality regulations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in applying data quality principles to deliver top-notch data assets
  • Proficiency in data quality and management tools, query languages, and scripting
  • Track record of identifying and resolving data quality concerns
  • Skilled in conducting root cause analysis on data quality issues.
  • Familiarity with data integration, profiling tools, and process automation
  • Current expertise in data analysis with a strong emphasis on data quality and governance principles
