THE POSITIONUnder the guidance of the Team Lead Archives, the Archive Data & Information Manager manages the reference metadata in the FIFA archive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing reference metadata using Mondeca ITM
- Validating candidate terms submitted to ITM
- Conducting quality reviews of cataloging and metadata regularly and offering feedback
- Evaluating workflows for enhanced efficiency in managing the growing volume of digital assets
- Training colleagues in cataloging, metadata standards, and technology
- Staying current with metadata management trends and advising the Team Lead
- Contributing to archive-related projects
- Providing guidance on the Media Asset Management system to archive staff
- Supporting the editorial team and producers with picture research

Key Qualifications for this Role:
- Master's degree in Library and Information Science or equivalent
- Expertise in cataloging and metadata for sport and film collections
- Experience with cataloging special collections, archival materials, and digital collections
- Experience in coordinating audiovisual media asset management systems
- Skills in batch cataloging, metadata normalization, and manipulation tools
- Several years' experience in audiovisual archive workflows
- Strong knowledge of metadata schemas, formats, and protocols
- Experience in implementing taxonomy and controlled vocabularies
- Familiarity with TV/Broadcast standards
- Knowledge of audiovisual technical aspects like video formats, codecs, and delivery specifications
- Understanding of copyright and related rights
- General knowledge of football and FIFA World Cup
- Experience in managing staff, operations, and leading change effectively
- Proficiency in English, with fluency in any other FIFA language being advantageous
- Knowledge in RDF, XML, JSON, and SQL is a plus
- Understanding of scripts like PHP or Python
- Willingness to travel for FIFA events
