A Finance Clerk contributes to the overall success of Jordan's Principle by effectively managing all financial tasks for the Jordan's Principle clients and employees.

The Finance Clerk is responsible for the Jordan's Principle financial accounting and reporting, payroll preparation and administration, budget preparation, project management accounting, information technology, risk management and office administration.

The Finance Clerk will work in collaboration with the Bloodvein River First Nation Finance department.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the First Nation
  • Implement and ensure compliance with internal financial and accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all statutory requirements of the organization are met
  • Document and maintain complete and accurate supporting information for all financial transactions
  • Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting
  • Oversee the bookkeeping function including maintenance of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure that personnel and financial information is secure and stored in compliance with current legislation
  • Manage the acquisition of capital assets and ensure that assets are properly recorded, amortized, and disposed of as appropriate
  • Work in collaboration and consultation with BDO Dunwoody

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a CPA (Certified Professional Accountant).
  • ACCPAC
  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problemsolving skills
  • Positive attitude and follows direction of Employer
  • Knowledge in Microsoft word
  • Punctuality
  • Committed to work
