Position Summary
Aptiv is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Counsel with a strong background in software licensing and a technical foundation in software or computer science. As the Intellectual Property Counsel – Software, you will play a critical role in guiding our organization through the complex landscape of intellectual property, software licensing, and data-related legal matters. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented, and strategic thinker who can effectively communicate complex legal issues to non-legal stakeholders
Your Role
Software license agreement negotiations and reviews, including advising supply chain management team on risks and developing processes. Draft and negotiate Commercial Intellectual Property contracts and documents with suppliers and customers pertaining to software. Support Information Security, Cybersecurity and Privacy related contracts, processes, policies, investigations and reviews. Advise and consult on matters related to Free and Open Source Software, and assist business with related compliance issues. Guide engineers and supply-chain teams on legal implications related to software, machine learning and data products.Your Background
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an IP Lawyer with a strong focus on software licensing. Technical background in software or computer science is required to understand and navigate the complexities of software-related intellectual property. Excellent negotiation and contract drafting skills. Strong knowledge of intellectual property laws, including patent, copyright, and trademark. Familiarity with information security, cybersecurity, and privacy regulations. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Exceptional communication and analytical skills.Why join us?
