Job Description

Introduction

Are you a talented electrical engineer with experience in designing low-voltage systems and safety systems, as well as managing projects and contracts in these technical areas? Join the Critical Systems Engineering team in the Alarms and Access group at CERN, where you can showcase your skills and expertise in deploying new Safety systems and enhancing existing ones. You will lead multiple projects simultaneously with the support of CERN services and contractors, contributing to the design of innovative solutions for challenging environments like underground tunnels, radioactive areas, and high magnetic fields.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualization and design of safety systems for radiation facilities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Development of test protocols, supervision of tests, and system commissioning for seamless deployment.
  • Writing technical specifications and communicating effectively in safety and technical committees.
  • Managing tendering processes and industrial support contracts.
  • Implementing multiple projects simultaneously within defined timelines and budgets.
  • Engaging in industrial collaborations and prototyping when necessary.
  • Staying updated on technology and standards for strategic planning.
  • Playing an active role in maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

Master's degree in electrical engineering or relevant field.

Experience

  • Proven expertise in designing low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience in Technical Specification writing and Contract Management.
  • Demonstrated Project Management skills in safety systems.
  • Knowledge of evacuation and voice alarm safety systems.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and standards.
  • Experience with CAD software is a plus.

  • Preparing commercial documents for contracts.
  • Understanding electromagnetic compatibility.
