Sr Principal Scientist, Global Process Development

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage multidisciplinary projects across Lonza network with mínimal direction. Communicate effectively at peer level and to nontechnical stakeholders. Make and influence decisions amongst peer group
  • Lead matrix teams made up of individuals across functions and sites to deliver projects with successful outcomes.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert knowhow in 2 or more relevant areas within upstream, downstream and/or bioconjugation for biologic drug substance process development and manufacturing across Lonza's global Biologics network
  • Effectively deliver projects to agreed milestones, scope and budget using lean methods. Demonstrate effective escalation, documentation, risk management and communication.
  • Present technical findings and recommendations to external customers in line with SME areas
  • Awareness and communication within peer group of Lonza strategy that underpins business growth

Key requirements:

  • Proven experience of leading matrix teams to deliver successful outcomes
  • Demonstrable use of root cause analysis tools to troubleshoot complex and ambiguous technical issues
  • Project management of multifunctional/multiworkstream projects to meet agreed milestones and scope is highly desirable
  • Experience using digital tools to provide advanced data analysis of bioprocesses in development and manufacture is highly desirable
  • Experience of using multivariate data analysis to drive process improvement and optimisation is desirable
- >8 yrs experience in a technically relevant field

  • Masters level degree in relevant scientific or technical discipline
  • Fluent in English. Fluency in German is desirable
