Research Assistant Position:
Text Analysis and NLP (M/F/d):20 % (unlimited by

Your tasks:

The research assistant works on a research project funded by the University of St. Gallen's Basic Research Fund.

This project aims to shed light on how fossil fuel companies might have used corporate advertisement as a potential tool of media capture, and how media outlets might have adjusted their media coverage of climate change and climate policy as a result.

The assistant's tasks involve data-related work, such as data collection, cleaning, and analysis.

In particular, the job involves systematic empirical analysis of large-scale media coverage data (newspaper articles and TV transcripts) with state-of-the-art natural language processing techniques.

Remote work is partly possible.

Your profile:

  • Has programming skills in R and/or Python
  • Has experience with text analysis / natural language processing
  • Pays exceptionally high attention to detail
  • Is enrolled at the University of St. Gallen (any level, any degree program)
