Research Assistant and PhD Student «Digital Platforms and Ecosystems» (M/F/d):70 % (unlimited, by June 1st 2023 or under mutual agreement)

Your tasks:

  • Conducting leadingedge research according to international standards in the field of strategic management, with a particular focus on digital platforms and ecosystems
  • Your research is expected to focus primarily on digital platforms and ecosystems in the financial sector. Potential research areas include (but are not limited to): How can established banks cope with increasing digitization and successfully design their own ecosystems? How do new digital offerings and FinTech companies affect existing players in the industry? How do new technologies such as blockchain affect the strategies of established firms in the financial sector?
  • Writing of scientific publications and participation in international conferences
  • Collaboration in company cooperations and research consortia
  • Support in teaching at bachelor, master and PhD level (assistance in courses; supervision of bachelor/master theses)

Your profile:

  • Outstanding master's degree in business/management, economics or a related field from a leading university or business school
  • Strong interest in digital platforms and ecosystems
  • Strong analytical mindset and quantitative skills
  • Intellectual curiosity and aptitude to think about complex ideas
  • Previous research experience, especially with analyzing datasets, ideally in an academic environment
  • First practical experience in a profession closely related to strategic management
  • Organized, proactive and handson attitude towards work
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus)
