Presentation:
The new DeTect (Deformation and Tectonics) research group, hosted within the Institute of Earth Sciences (ISTE) and Faculty of Geosciences and Environment (FGSE), is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to kickstart its exciting research program in 4D digital field and structural geology.
DeTect aims to unravel the 3D structural and tectonic evolution using an integrated digital and field-based mapping and modelling approach.
Job information:
Expected start date in position : or upon agreement
Contract length : 1 year, with the possibility of renewal for 2 more years
Activity rate : 100 % or upon agreement (minimum 80 %)

Institute of Earth Sciences, Faculty of Earth Sciences and Environment, University of Lausanne
Your responsibilities:
- 75% of the activity (minimum) will be dedicated to researchrelated activities, including:
- Conducting independent, high-quality research on integrating remote sensing, geophysical, and field data to study deformation in the Swiss Alps and Jura Mountains
- Publishing in peerreviewed journals
- Presenting work at national and international conferences
- Training of research students within the DeTect research group
Your qualifications:
- A demonstrable ability to conduct highquality research and disseminate research findings
- Ability to do fieldwork (geological field mapping or geophysical data acquisition)
- Experience in data science and/or programming, or the willingness to develop these skills
- Proficiency in English
- Good command of French is preferable; willingness to learn French is encouraged
