Working in a dynamic lab environment, you will collaborate with polymer specialists, tool makers, engineers, developers, designers, and scientists. Your primary focus will be on implementing novel polymer processing techniques to produce high-performance products at scale. Your expertise in polymer processing, engineering background, and hands-on approach will be pivotal in enhancing process stability and supporting the overall material development efforts, ultimately driving cutting-edge innovations for our footwear products.
Your Mission- Be part of On’s innovation team and work on a novel polymer processing technology, which is just about to be scaled up.
- Design, build and test prototypes, conduct experiments, and iterate designs based on findings in order to improve the process further.
- Define, test, and implement improvements based on process data analysis to ensure production efficiency and long-term improvements.
- Contribute to process development and take ownership of work packages.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of process data, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance efficiency and product quality.
- Coordinate and plan evaluation of new polymers applied with this novel process.
- Support the production team with your knowledge and help troubleshoot
- Collaborate closely with the Innovation- and production team
- Bachelor or Master in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in polymer processing industry
- Knowledge of different engineering disciplines (mechanical testing, manufacturing technologies and sourcing).
- CAD experience and ability to make technical drawings
- Basic understanding of automatization and robotics
- Experience in building prototypes and conducting experiments.
- Knowledge of injection molding, extrusion and other related processes.
- Basic understanding of programming languages such as Python, with a desire to expand knowledge further.
- Perfect fluency in English (spoken and written). Any other language is a plus.
