The CubeSat Mission SAGE investigates the aging of human cells in the microgravity of the low earth orbit. Understanding space’s impact on the human body is crucial for future space exploration, and our satellite houses a state of the art human model system, providing scientifically relevant data directly in orbit.

The Payload is the heart of our mission, featuring a first-of-its-kind, fully automated way to perform highly precise cell culture in space, along with a fluorescent microscope boasting single-cell resolution, all fitting within a 1U form factor.

Your Role:

  • Test for space: Write Arduino code to test sensors and components for the satellite payload. Assist in our testing campaign where all subsystems have to work together.
  • Code for space: Assist in integrating your code into the payloads on-board computer codebase.

Your Skills:

  • Know Your Systems: Some experience with microcontrollers (Arduino, Embedded Systems or similar).
  • Coding Language: Some coding experience in C or C++.

Working Conditions:

  • Project start: 11.03.2024
  • Duration: Minimum of 2 Semesters
  • Working hours: 10-15/h per week, varying
