The CubeSat Mission SAGE investigates the aging of human cells in the microgravity of the low earth orbit. Understanding space’s impact on the human body is crucial for future space exploration, and our satellite houses a state of the art human model system, providing scientifically relevant data directly in orbit.

The Attitude Determination and Control System (ADCS) controls the satellites orientation in space, for different operational modes such as pointing the antennas towards the ground station on earth, pointing the solar panels to face the sun for energy generation or orienting the satellite in a way to prevent overheating, making it an essential component for the success of any satellite mission.

Your Role:

  • Design the software architecture of the ADCS system
  • Translate algorithms from MATLAB to C
  • Design and write unit tests
  • Design an interface for the ADCS hardware

Your Skills:

  • Software development experience
  • Coding experience in C or C++
  • Willingness to adapt and learn new things
  • Basic knowledge of MATLAB, Control systems and some experience with microcontrollers is a benefit

Working Conditions:

  • Project start: Mai, 2024
  • Duration: Minimum of 2 Semesters
  • Working hours: 10-15/h per week, varying
