ABOUT CONSUMER & MARKET INSIGHTS FUNCTION

At Wella Company, the vision of Consumer & Market Insights function is to empower business growth through true customer & consumer centricity. THE ROLE

The Senior Consumer and Market insight Analyst, CMI, reporting into CMI Associate Director, plays a supporting role within the designated Business Unit/ Brand CMI team.

A qualified candidate is an expert in data analytics who is familiar with secondary market data like Nielsen, NPD, Euromonitor, Kline, and a power user of data visualization tools like Power BI. The candidate is familiar with market research methods, design, data collection and analysis to provide the necessary market understanding to drive evidence-based strategic and tactical organizational decisions.

Guided by the CMI Associate Director, this role is responsible of performing needed analysis and research by mining the data including but not limited to secondary market data, social data, and connecting the dots with the goal of answering related business questions.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct thorough market research and consumer analysis to identify trends, preferences, and emerging opportunities.
  • Analyze large datasets and consumer data to extract meaningful insights. Identify patterns, trends, and correlations to inform marketing strategies, product development, and overall business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business, developers, engineers to ensure consumer insights are fully integrated into product development and decision-making processes.
  • Effectively communicate research findings and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Support the brand team with competitive intelligence insight.
  • Analyze secondary market data, social listening data, and sales data.
  • Compile the monthly Brand Performance scorecard.
  • Perform quality assurance and create coherence cross data sources;
  • Build a strong and long lasting partnership with key data provider / external stakeholders.
  • Become the go-to person for all data related requests for designated Business Unit/ Brand, by defining reporting and partner with CMI Associate Director to communicate the key insights and findings to the key stakeholders.
  • Support CMI Associate Director to compose business opportunity related deep dive.
  • Monitor the competitors activities and outcomes through secondary market data and social listening.

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • 1 to 3 years of experience in Business Analysis or in market research, preferably in Beauty category.
  • A Bachelor´s degree in marketing, business administration, market research, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Proficiency in utilizing research methodologies and tools, such as surveys, focus groups, and data analysis software.
  • Power user of Power BI is preferred.
  • Good command of MS Office Suite, in particular (proficient with light understanding of coding in) Excel and (Good) Power Point.
  • Passionate about consumers and knowledge of consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Highly detail-oriented and well-organize.
  • Strong learning & service mindset, curios, dynamic and entrepreneurial.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable working within a fluid and flexible culture; adjusts well to change and/or shifting priorities; Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple research projects simultaneously.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required, a second language in German is preferred.
