  • Operate, maintain and develop the IPX transport services and systems of Comfone 
  • Implement and manage IP transport access links to Comfone IPX, including planning, routing, testing, documentation and providing technical support to Comfone customers and peers 
  • Improve the IP access infrastructure supporting IPX services, ensuring reliable performance and scalability 
  • Proactively monitor the IP access network and manage capacity to ensure optimal performance and prevent issues before they impact service 
  • Troubleshoot services and resolve technical incidents worldwide to minimize downtime and restore services efficiently 
  • Provide 2nd-level on-call duty support to internal and external parties

  • University degree or equivalent in the field of telecommunications, communication systems or comparable with a very good understanding of IP networks and protocols 
  • Experience in working with Cisco/Arista routers and switches, as well as firewalls, including configuration, troubleshooting and performance optimization 
  • Deep knowledge of IP networking-related protocols and technologies, including routing protocols BGP, IS-IS, MPLS, TCP/IP, IPSec, VLANs, QoS and DNS, as well as familiarity with network security principles and practices 
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in operating carrier-grade IP networks 
  • Knowledge of the LTE/GSM mobile network technologies and roaming industry is a plus 
  • Dynamic, communicative and customer focused, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable service 
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Extra languages are a plus 
  • You are willing to work in Bern, Switzerland 
The position is open to Swiss and EU nationals, and to holder of a valid Swiss work permit.
