We are strengthening our IPX Engineering Team in Bern and are looking for a motivated and dedicated engineer to provide exceptional customer support in the area of IPX services. As a technically oriented professional, you are eager to further develop your expertise in IPX technologies and adept at handling daily challenges. You will work alongside industry-leading experts and have the opportunity to contribute to the continued success of Comfone.

Responsibilities:
  1. Operate, maintain and develop the IPX signalling services and systems of Comfone.
  2. Implement and manage signalling links, including planning, routing, testing, documentation, and providing technical support to Comfone customers and peers.
  3. Enhance Comfone‘s IPX signalling network ensuring reliable performance and scalability.
  4. Proactively monitor the IPX signalling network and manage its capacity to ensure optimal performance and prevent issues before they impact service.
  5. Troubleshoot services and resolve technical incidents worldwide to minimize downtime and restore services efficiently.
  6. Provide 2nd-level on-call duty support to internal and external parties.
Your Ideal Profile:
  1. University degree or equivalent in the field of telecommunications, communication systems or comparable with a very good understanding of Mobile Networks and protocols.
  2. Experience in operating STP, DRA, PGW and HSS, as well as VAS platforms, including configuration, troubleshooting and performance optimization.
  3. Deep knowledge of Mobile Network related protocols and technologies, including SS7/SIGTRAN, Diameter, GTP and DNS, as well as signalling routing and roaming.
  4. Proficient in Wireshark/tcpdump and other industry-standard tracing/monitoring tools.
  5. At least 5 years of professional experience in operating mobile networks or IPX.
  6. Knowledge of the 5G SA mobile network standards is a plus.
  7. Ability to script in Python, Linux shell and SQL, with knowledge of Linux system is a plus.
  8. Dynamic, communicative and customer focused, with a commitment to delivering high-quality, reliable service.
  9. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. Extra languages are a plus.
  10. You are willing to work in Bern, Switzerland.
