Consultant - Consultancy to support Unitaid’s external relations resources mobilization efforts, primarily in Brazil and Latin American Countries

Deliverables
Deliverable 1: Mapping of key stakeholders, decision-makers and actors of influence, key platforms for engagement in Brazil (including policy leaders, civil society organizations and private sector as relevant).Expected by: September 2024 Deliverable 2: Provision of strategic advice to Unitaid senior management on recommended actions, notably on political engagement with key decision-makers and actors of influence; identify potential opportunities (high-level meetings, participation in international conferences and other high-level events), trends and risks with the aim to raise Unitaid’s profile in the global public health arena and with current donor countries in particular.
Expected by: January 2025 Deliverable 3: Preparation, facilitation, and organization of meetings with key stakeholders and influencers, high level visits to specific priority countries and participation to conferences for Unitaid’s senior management, as per Unitaid’s Secretariat request.
Expected by: March 2025 Deliverable 4: Writing of key documents; analysis of selected political and global health issues; country-specific updates on development and global health commitments with reference to Official Development Assistance (ODA), budgetary and legal implications; specific one-pager briefs for countries; meeting presentations; adjustment of key existing Unitaid documents to the priority country’s context (when applicable, the contractor will supervise translation activities).
Expected by: July 2025 Deliverable 5: Contribute to Unitaid’s communications efforts by providing advice aimed at tailoring messages to Brazilian and Latin American audience, and reviewing communications materials, accordingly, as required.

Qualifications, experience, skills and languages
Educational Qualifications:
Essential:
An advanced university degree or equivalent in public health and/or social sciences.
Experience:
Essential:
A minimum of 10 years' experience in partnership and country engagement development. A minimum of 5 years' experience of working with government representatives. A minimum of 10 years' experience in the field of public health.Desirable:
Previous experience with international organizations.
Skills:
Well established network of contacts. Advanced writing and communication skills particularly for verbal presentations in meetings and events and written communication in the form of technical briefings, reports and donor proposal and reporting.
Languages required:
Essential:
Expert knowledge of Portuguese. Intermediate knowledge of Spanish. Intermediate knowledge of English.
Location
Off site: Home-based.
Travel
The consultant is expected to travel to attend meetings and/or relevant political events whenever needed.
Remuneration and budget (travel costs are excluded):
Remuneration:
Band level C - USD 500 - 625 per day.
Living expenses (A living expense is payable to on-site consultants who are internationally recruited):

Expected duration of contract:
11 months (approximately 90 days). Additional contracts may be offered based on funding availability and satisfactory performance.
