Responsibilities:
We are looking for a High Performance Nylon Product Developer based in Meyrin, Switzerland.
The candidate will primarily develop new products for Zytel High Performance Nylon thermoplastics and collaborate with cross-functional teams to commercialize these products.
Develop new products for engineering thermoplastics and collaborate with cross-functional teams to commercialize these products. Work with external and internal customers to translate functional requirements to product requirements and identify opportunities. Use a variety of sources and ideation techniques to develop new technology concepts that enable new product properties as well as applications. Develop and optimize differentiated material solutions for mechanical, thermal, and other properties critical to the customer. Work closely with development, commercial, and manufacturing teams to accelerate scaleup and commercialization. Benchmark competitive products to understand value vs competition. Develop and establish intellectual property through filing of patents and documenting trade secrets.
Qualifications:
PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Material Science, or Polymer Science or Engineering (or related field). 3+ years of industry experience in thermoplastics related areas. Experience with formulating and processing of engineered thermoplastics. Strong background in polymer structure-property relationships and polymer blends. Working knowledge of analytical characterization techniques for rheological, mechanical and, thermal properties of polymers. Working knowledge of polymer processes including compounding with twin screw extruders and injection molding. Demonstrated use of design of experiments. Excellent presentation and communication skills. Excellent project management and organizational skills required to develop detailed project timelines with key milestones and deliverables. Works well in team environment and possess the interpersonal and communication skills needed to work effectively in cross-functional teams to drive project from lab-to-commercial scale. Works safely in the laboratory and plant settings. Interested in this opportunity?
