About the opportunity:
Sony AI is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven individual with expertise in Machine Learning and Design Optimization Algorithms for aninternship position. We’re currently looking for smart, enthusiastic people who want to join our team of world-renowned researchers as we push the boundaries applying AI in support of human creativity. In this role, the successful candidate will contribute to our groundbreaking flagship project in AI for Chip Design, thus merging physics with Machine Learning techniques.

You will:
Develop and implement Machine Learning algorithms, focusing on the exploration of novel and efficient algorithms for design optimization.
Design relevant data structures for problems driven by physical models in the context of design optimization
Propose performance metrics andidentify limitations of the models
Write reports and give presentations for internal audience
Publish papers in top-tier venues
Write code to support research, usually in Python and/or C++
Work closely with a team of AI researchers and engineers in the US, Switzerland, and Japan on ambitious AI projects
You will bring:
Passion to develop cutting-edge AI technology and deploy it through a multi-stakeholder approach
Background in Machine Learning (B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.) and relevant work/research experienceon topics related to Design Optimization
Solid programming skills using Python, as well as frameworks such as PyTorch
Excellent oral and written English
