Industrial Vision Engineer - R&DThe Bobst Group R&D division carries out innovative technology projects and product developments to shape digital transformation in the packaging industry. One aspect of offering higher levels of automation to our customers is the implementation of high-performance vision system. To reinforce our teams, we are looking for an Industrial Vision Engineer to join us in this endeavor.

Start date: As soon as possible
Activity Rate: Full-Time
Type of contract: Permanent contract

Main Responsibilities

  • Learn the ins and outs of our products and consolidate this knowledge with field experience
  • Develop vision competencies within the team and pave the way for future product evolutions
  • Define, Implement, Test and Validate new products and software functions for our customers
  • Collaborate with a wide range of partners (Sales, Subject Matter Experts, Software and Automation Engineers, Technical support and Field Service Technicians)
  • Provide customer support and training to ensure optimal usage of our solution portfolio

  • Experience with image processing libraries
  • Experience with real-time applications
  • Experience with industrial PLCs
  • Experience with Agile product development methodologies
  • Experience with Azure DevOps

Our Software Stack

  • Languages : C, C++, C#
  • Frameworks : .Net
  • Image Processing Libraries: OpenCV, Matrox Imaging Library
  • Development platform: Azure DevOps
  • IDE : Visual Studio
  • PLC: Siemens TIA Portal

Your experience and languages skills

  • M.Sc. degree or equivalent experience with Industrial Vision Systems
  • Business proficiency in French & English, Italian would be an asset

The production site of Mex, near Lausanne in Switzerland, is also the headquarters of the Bobst Group. It is the most important site, employing approx. 1500 passionate people.
It also trains each year roughly 200 apprentices. The site offers an idyllic work environment. In the countryside and close to major highways, it is also well served by public transport. It offers many amenities, such as a corporate restaurant, sports fields, a fitness and a nursery. The facilities have been recently renovated and represent a model for sustainable development.
