The International School of Lausanne (ISL) is a leading not-for-profit, International Baccalaureate (IB) World School set in the French speaking part of Switzerland. The school employs approximately 250 members of staff on its campus where we welcome approximately 900 students from over 60 nationalities, from 3 to 18 years of age.

 

Primary School Teacher - Year 6 (100%)

Maternity leave replacement from November 2024 to June 2025

We are a dynamic and internationally diverse Primary School with 320 students representing 52 countries and speaking 36 languages. Our 45 passionate educators are driven by a shared goal: to inspire a love of learning and foster personal growth in each student.

You are an inspirational teacher who believes in the power of education to transform lives. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are committed to creating engaging, student-focused learning experiences. Here is what we are looking for:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (graduate or postgraduate level)
  • Ideally three years’ proven success teaching children aged from five to eleven-year old
  • Experience with collaborative planning and teaching
  • Expertise in Literacy and Mathematics with effective teaching practices
  • High proficiency in English with strong communication skills; proficiency in French would be an asset
  • Knowledge of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) is a significant advantage
  • A proven ability to design lessons that motivate and inspire students to learn
  • Sensitivity to cultural diversity; experience in an international setting is highly valued
  • Adaptability, flexibility, dynamism and a sense of humour
  • Strong ICT skills with the ability to use technology to enhance learning
  • A commitment to self-reflection and professional development
