A family living in Geneva Old Town is looking for a dedicated and experienced 80% Housekeeper & Childcare Assistant to join their home. The family provides accommodation in a private studio in the same building for live-in candidates.

The ideal candidate has experience working in private homes, cooking skills and the ability to assist with childcare responsibilities. The parents would like to have more children so there is a possibility of extending this position to full-time as their needs evolve. Both parents work full-time and currently, they have a nanny.

Start date: December 2024

Children: A girl aged 7 years old.

The family is planning to have more children and hire a candidate full-time.

Schedule: From 12 pm to 7 or 7:30 pm (36 hours a week)

Family language: English, Italian, French, Japanese.

Candidate language required: English. Italian is a plus.

Main tasks:

  • Household chores including laundry and ironing
  • Prepare dinner. The famliy loves Italian food. The family also likes to cook.
  • Pick up the daughter from the school when the nanny is not available.
  • Travel on weekends to Italy.

Requirements

  • Eligibility to work in Switzerland, Swiss/French Passport or Swiss permit
  • Written letters of recommendation or job certificates that we can verify
  • Previous experience in the same role working in private homes.
  • Cooking skills. The family has a preference for the Italian cuisine.
  • Experience in childcare and a genuine love for working with children.
  • Proficiency in English is required. Italian is a plus.
  • Manage time effectively, and work independently.
  • Flexibility for travel is essential. Accompany the family on frequent weekend trips to Italy.
  • Pet-Friendly. The family has a Labrador.
