Our European business is based in Basel, where around 30 talented professionals collaborate closely with colleagues across our international studios. We're looking for a hands-on Finance & Controlling Manager to help shape the financial and operational success of our Basel and Tirana studios. In this broad role, you'll work closely with Studio Leadership, Project Leaders and our global Finance teams while actively contributing to the day-to-day success of the business. Your Role You'll be responsible for the financial and controlling management of our European studios, supporting sustainable growth while ensuring strong financial performance and efficient business operations. This is not a Finance Director or CFO role. We're looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves. In our lean organisation, you'll combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution—taking ownership of day-to-day finance operations, working closely with external accountants, partnering with Project Leaders, improving processes, and actively contributing to how we run and grow the business. Your Responsibilities Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management and financial reporting. Coordinate external accountants, auditors and ensure statutory compliance. Partner with Project Leaders on project controlling, project profitability and financial performance. Prepare fee proposals, commercial reviews and support contract negotiations. Monitor project financial performance throughout all project phases. Drive continuous improvement of financial and operational processes. Support Studio Leadership with financial analysis and commercial decision-making. Contribute to strategic business initiatives while remaining actively involved in day-to-day finance operations. What You'll Bring A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field. Around 5–10 years of experience in Finance, Controlling or Finance & Operations. Experience working in a small or medium-sized organisation with broad operational finance responsibilities. Experience within an architecture or engineering practice is a significant advantage. A strong understanding of architectural project phases, fee structures, project billing and project financial controlling will allow you to make an immediate impact in this role. Strong analytical, commercial and organisational skills with a proactive, hands-on mindset. A high level of ownership and the ability to work independently while collaborating across multiple teams. Experience coordinating external accountants, auditors and statutory compliance. Experience with ERP, accounting and project management software is an advantage. Fluent German and English are essential.

- oder CFO-Position. Wir suchen eine Persönlichkeit, die gerne selbst anpackt. In unserer schlanken Organisation verbindest Du strategisches Denken mit operativer Umsetzung – Du übernimmst Verantwortung für das tägliche Finanzgeschäft, arbeitest eng mit unserem externen Treuhänder und unserer Revisionsstelle zusammen, unterstützt unsere Projektleitenden, optimierst Prozesse und gestaltest aktiv mit, wie wir unser Unternehmen weiterentwickeln. Deine Aufgaben Verantwortung für Budgetierung, Forecasts, Liquiditätsplanung und Finanzreporting. Koordination externer Treuhänder, Revisionsstellen sowie Sicherstellung der gesetzlichen Compliance. Enge Zusammenarbeit mit Projektleitenden im Projektcontrolling sowie bei der Steuerung der Projektprofitabilität. Unterstützung bei Honorarangeboten, kommerziellen Analysen und Vertragsverhandlungen. Laufende Überwachung der finanziellen Performance unserer Projekte über alle Projektphasen hinweg. Kontinuierliche Weiterentwicklung von Finanz
- und Betriebsprozessen. Unterstützung der Studioleitung mit fundierten Finanzanalysen und betriebswirtschaftlichen Entscheidungsgrundlagen. Mitarbeit an strategischen Unternehmensinitiativen bei gleichzeitiger aktiver Verantwortung für das operative Tagesgeschäft. Was Du mitbringst Abgeschlossenes Studium in Finance, Accounting, Betriebswirtschaft oder einem vergleichbaren Fachgebiet. Rund 5–10 Jahre Berufserfahrung in Finance, Controlling oder Finance & Operations. Erfahrung in einem kleinen oder mittelständischen Unternehmen, in dem Sie ein breites operatives Finanzspektrum verantwortet haben. Erfahrung in einem Architektur
- oder Ingenieurbüro ist ein grosser Vorteil. Ein gutes Verständnis von Projektphasen, Honorarstrukturen, Projektabrechnung und Projektcontrolling ermöglicht Dir einen schnellen Einstieg in die Rolle. Ausgeprägte analytische, kaufmännische und organisatorische Fähigkeiten sowie eine proaktive, hands-on Mentalität. Hohe Eigenverantwortung und die Fähigkeit, selbstständig sowie bereichsübergreifend zu arbeiten. Erfahrung in der Zusammenarbeit mit externen Treuhändern, Revisionsstellen und Behörden.
