Shipbroker – Dry Bulk

Our client is a well-established and respected global shipbroking firm with a strong presence in Geneva. The Geneva office currently comprises four professionals, including three focused on dry bulk and one on derivatives. The company fosters a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture with a solid global network and reputation in the dry bulk sector.

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and well-connected Dry Bulk Shipbroker to join the Geneva team. The ideal candidate will already be based in Switzerland (or have strong ties to the local market), speak fluent French, and possess an established network in the dry bulk shipping industry. You will be responsible for generating and executing chartering opportunities, building client relationships, and contributing to the growth of the Geneva office.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain relationships with charterers, shipowners, and operators in the dry bulk market.

• Match cargoes with suitable vessels and negotiate charter party terms.

• Manage the end-to-end chartering process including post-fixture support.

• Monitor market trends and provide market intelligence to clients and colleagues.

• Collaborate closely with the existing team and contribute to the overall growth strategy in Geneva.

• Uphold a high standard of professional conduct and client service.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience in dry bulk shipbroking, with an active client and/or owner network.

• Fluent in French and English; additional languages are a plus.

• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.

• Based in or strongly connected to the Swiss market.

• Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to work both independently and in a team.

• EU/Swiss work permit or eligibility to work in Switzerland.
