About the roleWe are seeking a full-time English-speaking travel consultant to join our sales team. As an ideal candidate, you have at least 2 years of relevant experience designing multi-stop itineraries and outstanding customer service skills. You have strong destination knowledge of African destinations (particularly South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya, and Tanzania) and feel confident in making others dream about the wonders that await them at these destinations.Relentless in your pursuits, you usually have a hard time accepting a "no" for an answer (much less radio silence), so you resourcefully ideate new, creative (and always respectful) ways to effectively engage with your audience.Your role and responsibilities will include but not be limited to:You design compelling, tailor-made trips inspired by our customers' dreamsYou actively engage with our customers from the moment they contact us, to the moment they embark on their dream holidayYou manage the booking process including quotations and booking the suppliers for our customers with the help of our internal toolsYou collaborate with the product and marketing team to improve and expand the offering on our websiteYou provide quantitative and qualitative feedback on how our Tech team can improve our tools for better delivery to customersYou work with your team to continuously improve and develop your sales strategiesYou manage and report back on your KPIs on a regular basis and work continuously to improve them to meet ambitious sales targets What you bring to Viatu You have at least 2 years of sales experience as a travel consultant managing multiple client requests simultaneously, organising your tasks efficiently and maximising your conversion rateA proven track record of exceeding sales targets and growing revenueYou have excellent communication and presentation skills in EnglishYou work meticulously with a high degree of autonomyYou have excellent African product knowledge and a passion for travelYou are passionate about turning our customers' dreams into reality and taking care of all the details with love and passionYou have a soft spot for sustainability and care deeply for our environmentA pragmatic and analytical approach to salesYou have a bachelor's degree in social science, marketing, economics or a related field It's a big PLUS if you have one or more of the following qualitiesPrevious experience in a fast-paced startupDeep product and destination knowledge of African destinationsExperience working with a modern CRM tracking your leads and logging your actionsWorking knowledge of the Google Suite and WetuOur ideal candidate is based in Cape Town, South Africa.CompensationBase Salary: Above industry-related base salary (depending on experience and destination knowledge in our key destinations)Additional personal commission: 10% of the gross profit of your salesAdditional team bonus: 10% of base salary is offered upon target achievement of the whole team BenefitsGo on Safaris and amazing Adventures for living (someone has to test it ;) sponsored by ViatuCompetitive salary and commission structureGenerous team bonus based on performanceUncapped earning potentialOpportunities for rapid career growthWork with a passionate and supportive teamMake a real difference in the world of sustainable travelGetting access to attractive travel allowances, educationals and special travel incentives for yourself and your familyWorking fully remotely with a decentralised team with regular meetups in Cape Town & EuropeHaving a direct impact on people and planet in the destinations we operate inAccess to internal and external education and life-long-learning opportunitiesProcessWe appreciate your time and want to give you full transparency about our hiring:Role-specific assessment that you can complete in your own timeRole-specific interview (with another team member in the sales team)Final interview (with our CEO or Head of Operations)Reporting: You will report to our Head of SalesEmployment Type: Full-time (5-days a week)We are curious to get to know you better,Your Viatu Team*Viatu is an equal-opportunity employer and values diversity.
