R&D Intern Battery Engineer

We are looking for a motivated Battery Engineering Intern to join our R&D Power Management team. In this role, you will support the development, system integration, and verification of Lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries for hearing instruments. You will work hands-on in the battery laboratory, conduct experiments, analyze test data, and contribute to advanced battery modeling and charging strategy optimization.This internship provides a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of electrochemistry, modeling, power management, and hardware testing.More about the role Assess different charging strategies, including ageing effects of Li-ion batteries used in hearing instruments applicationsAnalyze test data and contribute to the development and refinement of battery lifetime prediction modelsPerform electrochemical characterization, and (optional) post-mortem analysisPrepare, execute, and analyze cell performance and verification tests (e.g. verification and validation test)Maintain, calibrate, and ensure stable operation of battery test systems and lab equipmentSupport and expand laboratory tools (e.g. impedance analyzer)Develop, debug, and improve MATLAB/Python scripts for data processing, automation, and reportingMaintain and calibrate battery test systems and ensure stable operation of lab equipmentDocument results, prepare reports, and support R&D activitiesMore about you Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related fieldStrong interest in Li-ion batteries, electrochemistry, and power managementBasic proficiency in MATLAB and Python programmingPractical, hands-on attitude and ability to work on-site in a laboratory settingIndependent, structured, and reliable work styleStrong communication skills and team orientationGood spoken and written EnglishWhat We OfferReal-world experience in advanced battery R&DExposure to industry-grade test systems and analytical toolsOpportunity to contribute to meaningful products improving people's livesA collaborative environment with mentoring from skilled engineersMagdalena Suszek, Talent Acquisition Partner, is looking forward to receiving your complete application (cover letter, CV, references and certificates) via our online job application platform.
