For Entrepreneurs.Position:Partner & Head of FintechLocation:ZurichWorkload:100% full-timeJob objectivePartner & Head of Fintech is responsible for building and leading the firm's fintech legal practice, advising clients on the full spectrum of legal, regulatory, and transactional matters related to financial innovation.ResponsibilitiesProvide strategic legal guidance on the regulation of the fintech sector, including compliance with Swiss and international financial market lawsSupport clients in securing regulatory approvals and licenses from FINMA and other global authorities such as CSSF, MFSA, FMA, CIMA, and BaFinCounsel on payment transactions law, including PSD2 compliance, e-money regulations, and digital payment infrastructureAdvise on crowdfunding and crowd investing models, tokenization of financial instruments, and investor protection rulesEnsure client compliance with AML/KYC frameworks and assist in building robust governance structures and internal controlsProvide expert legal support on blockchain technology, crypto assets, token offerings, and DeFi models, including regulatory classification and licensingAdvise on data protection and data security, including GDPR, revised FADP, and sector-specific cybersecurity requirementsDraft, review, and negotiate fintech-sector contracts, including partnership and joint venture agreements, technology and license agreements, investment and financing agreementsCultivate and expand long-term client relationships through high-quality service and proactive engagementDevelop business development strategies, contribute to thought leadership (e.g. articles, webinars, events), and represent the firm at industry conferencesMentor and supervise junior lawyers and associates, promoting professional development and knowledge sharingEnsure compliance with internal quality standards, billing targets, and operational goalsRequirementsEducationSwiss bar admission and first-class qualificationExcellent academic credentials in law (Master's degree / PhD)Additional studies in business law or financial lawProfessional experience10 + years of proven work experience as a lawyer, preferably in a Partner role in a law firm, auditing firm, or senior level in-house legal department of bank or asset management companiesLanguagesStylistically confident, appropriate English and GermanAdditional languages (e.g. French, Italian) are an assetCognitive and analytical skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with a client-first mentalityHigh level of integrity, professional credibility, and discretionResults-oriented, proactive, and resilient under pressureCharismatic and confident, with the ability to represent the firm at conferences and industry forumsCollaborative team player with an inclusive leadership styleLeadership skillsEstablished client network and ability to attract new mandates (existing book of business is a strong plus)Entrepreneurial mindset with the capability to build and growProven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of legal professionalsExperience in internal knowledge sharing, thought leadership, and promoting best practicesWhat we offer to PartnersEntrepreneurial approach:Build and lead your practice — with full strategic autonomy.
