Run what runs the world.This Position reports to:R&D Team LeadYour role and responsibilities:In this role, you'll help run what runs the world, by taking on meaningful work that drives real impact.You will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement (6 months). Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.The work model for the role is: #LI-Hybrid (maximum 20% remote)This internship focuses on supporting the low and medium voltage switching research team in experimental and simulation tasks. The internship tasks will include:Construction of experimental setupsParticipating in designing and in simulating novel concepts for low and medium voltage switchgearExecuting experimental tasks within the ABB research teamEvaluating experimental results and performing data analysisQualifications for the role:You currently pursue an advanced Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Physics or related subjectYou have practical experience in experimental work in a labYou possess programming skills in Python and you are proficient in CAD software (or willingness to learn it)You are comfortable communicating in EnglishNon-EU/non-EFTA citizens, please note that a certificate from your university, showing that an internship is a mandatory part of your studies, is required for the visa applicationWhat's in it for youWe empower you to take initiative, challenge ideas, and lead with confidence.
