Position Overview If you love wrangling data, scaling systems, and solving problems that actually matter, this is your moment. At WhatConverts, we're not just storing data, but we're turning it into answers that fuel smarter marketing and real business growth. And we want you to help build the engine behind it all. We're looking for a hands-on, detail-obsessed Data Engineer / DBA to own our data stack, design systems that scale, and unlock insights that drive action. This is a high-impact, high-ownership role where your work won't just be seen, but it will drive decisions for thousands of marketers and business owners.
In this role you'll get to:Design and manage our MySQL databases with a focus on speed, scalability, and reliabilityBuild and maintain CDC-driven data pipelines that move data efficiently across our platformTune queries, refine schemas, and optimize database performance for high-volume workloadsSupport internal teams by improving data availability and access for analytics and reportingOversee data integrity, replication, backups, and disaster recovery readinessCollaborate across teams to shape the future of our data architecture
Experience with NoSQL tools such as DynamoDB Streams or MongoDB Change Streams is a plus.
What we're looking for:Have 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, DBA, or hybridKnow your way around SQL optimization, indexing, and schema designSkilled in database administration, including backups, scaling, and performance optimization (AWS RDS preferred)Have built scalable pipelines and worked with large datasetsComfortable working across AWS services, especially RDS, with deep familiarity in navigating the cloud environment.Are obsessed with clean data, automation, and performanceLove collaborating, but also thrive in autonomous, ownership-driven roles
Bonus: You've worked with SaaS, marketing, or call tracking data. You have experience in PHP, Python, or NoSQL.
