Summary
Indoor air quality is critical for health and comfort, and Variable Air Volume (VAV) actuators play a key role in regulating airflow in modern building ventilation systems. This internship focuses on developing advanced control strategies for VAV systems using system identification and online learning techniques. The goal is to design adaptive algorithms that improve performance and reduce manual tuning efforts. You will work with simulation tools (MATLAB/Simulink) to model airflow dynamics, implement learning-based control approaches, and validate solutions through simulations and lab tests.

What You'll Do

  • Support simulation setup and understand airflow control objectives.
  • Assist in modeling and system identification for VAV actuators.
  • Contribute to adaptive control and online learning algorithm development.
  • Validate solutions through simulations and help prepare reports.

Who You Are

  • Basic knowledge of control systems and system modeling.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink; Python is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively.
