We are currently partnering with a growing European trading firm in Switzerland that is seeking to appoint a dynamic Head of Risk to lead its risk management function. This is a key strategic hire, suited to a seasoned risk professional with deep expertise across market risk and credit risk, and a proven track record of building and guiding high-performing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the firm's global risk management framework across market, credit, and liquidity risk.
  • Oversee risk monitoring, measurement, reporting, and limit frameworks across multiple asset classes.
  • Provide strategic direction and insight to senior leadership, ensuring effective governance and a robust risk culture.
  • Challenge front-office activities, conduct scenario analysis, and drive risk-related decision-making.
  • Collaborate with trading, operations, compliance, and technology teams to enhance risk systems and processes.
  • Represent the risk function to internal committees, external stakeholders, and regulators.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in financial markets, with strong technical expertise in both market and credit risk.
  • Prior experience leading a Risk function, including managing and developing risk teams.
  • Multi-asset class exposure is ideal; experience in commodities is a strong plus.
  • Strong understanding of risk modelling, stress testing, VaR, counterparty analysis, and limit frameworks.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Experience in managing relationships with front office, partnering with the trading floor.
