SAP ABAP Team Lead - German-speaking

An experienced SAP SAP ABAP Team lead is required on a permanent basis to work for our client – an exciting Swiss retailer. As the lead of the SAP development team, you will oversee both the technical direction and people management aspects. The role is focused on ensuring stable, high-performing SAP systems (S/4HANA, Fiori, Solution Manager, etc.) and driving their continuous improvement in line with SAP standards and business needs.

Responsibilities:


• Lead, coach, and develop the internal SAP software development team.


• Oversee the smooth operation of SAP systems within the development landscape.


• Drive the continuous enhancement of the SAP system and ensure compliance with SAP best practices.


• Prepare technical specifications, effort estimates, and make-or-buy recommendations.


• Define sprint deliverables and manage releases with a focus on time-to-market.


• Act as the key technical contact for external partners, ensuring smooth collaboration and delivery.

Requirements:


• Background in computer science with a strong understanding of programming languages and technical environments.


• Several years of hands-on experience in full-stack SAP development using technologies such as ABAP, UI5, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, and HTML.


• Previous exposure to retail industry projects is highly beneficial.


• Higher education in IT and prior management experience are an advantage.


• Creative and solution-oriented mindset with a strong focus on quality and delivery.


• Strong customer orientation and excellent communication skills in German (fluent) and English (good working level).
