We are seeking an experienced and strategic
Strategic Procurement Manager
to lead procurement operations for a prestigious client in the
aviation sector
. Based in
Switzerland
, this role is pivotal in driving sourcing excellence, supplier performance, and cost optimisation across a complex and highly regulated industry.

You will be responsible for managing high-value procurement activities, developing supplier strategies, and ensuring alignment with global standards and compliance requirements. This is a high-impact role offering visibility across senior leadership and opportunities to influence procurement transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end procurement activities for aviation-related goods and services, including MRO, components, and technical services
  • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans aligned with business objectives
  • Manage supplier relationships, performance evaluations, and contract negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with aviation industry regulations and internal procurement policies
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, finance, and legal
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Monitor market trends and risks to inform procurement decisions
  • Support digitisation and automation of procurement processes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field
  • Minimum 7 years of procurement experience, preferably within aviation or aerospace
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and stakeholder management skills
  • Fluent in English; German or French is a strong advantage
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and procurement tools
  • Knowledge of aviation compliance standards (e.g., EASA, FAA) is a plus
  • Proven ability to lead teams and manage complex projects
