L'Istituto federale di ricerca per la foresta, la neve e il paesaggio WSL si occupa dell'uso sostenibile e della protezione dell'ambiente, nonché della gestione dei pericoli naturali. Il WSL fa parte del Settore dei Politecnici Federali e impiega circa 600 persone, di cui 10 a Cadenazzo.
Il gruppo di ricerca Ecosistemi Insubrici ha sede a Cadenazzo, in Ticino, dove studia l'evoluzione degli ecosistemi forestali e le tendenze emergenti nei processi ecologici come le invasioni biologiche e gli incendi boschivi, approfondendo le conseguenze del cambiamento globale sulle foreste e sui loro servizi ecosistemici. Obiettivo della ricerca è ottenere approfondite conoscenze dell'impatto sui processi e i servizi ecosistemici delle interazioni tra clima, ambiente, organismi, gestione del territorio e disturbi naturali.

Ricercatore/trice sugli ecosistemi forestali emergenti (novel forest ecosytems) presso Il gruppo di ricerca Ecosistemi Insubrici (f/m/d)
In qualità di ricercatore/trice riconosciuto/a a livello internazionale, concepirai e svilupperai i tuoi progetti sulle tematiche legate ai nuovi ecosistemi forestali emergenti nella regione insubrica del Sud delle Alpi della Svizzera (Canton Ticino e Grigioni), con particolare attenzione alle sfide ecologiche e selvicolturali della fascia castanile. Ti impegnerai a divulgare i risultati della ricerca applicata alla pratica e a collaborare strettamente con le parti interessate, in particolare nel Canton Ticino e le valli del Grigioni italiano. Sarà anche tuo compito acquisire fondi terzi per i progetti di ricerca e curare le collaborazioni con le autorità e le organizzazioni a livello regionale, cantonale e nazionale, nonché stimolare l'adesione a reti internazionali dedicate allo studio delle nuove realtà forestali.
Possiedi un dottorato di ricerca e hai un eccellente curriculum scientifico nel campo delle scienze forestali e dell'ecologia, con una solida formazione in selvicoltura, che ti consenta di agire come consulente per altri progetti di ricerca all'interno del gruppo. Hai una visione aperta sulla conservazione della natura e sulla resilienza e sei interessato a valutare o formulare nuove teorie ecologiche. Sei orientato al lavoro di squadra e apprezzi scambi frequenti con i tuoi colleghi. Da persona intraprendente, ti piace curare e sviluppare i contatti con gli attori della pratica, le organizzazioni partner e gli istituti di ricerca. Parli correntemente italiano e inglese (sia scritto che parlato) e hai una buona padronanza di un'altra lingua nazionale svizzera (francese o tedesco).
