Data Platform Engineer

vor 2 Wochen

Bern, Bern, Schweiz THRYVE Vollzeit

About the Role

Join a forward-thinking data organization in Bern that's shaping the next generation of cloud-based analytics platforms. As a
Data Platform Operations Engineer (RunOps)
, you'll be the guardian of our data landscape — ensuring pipelines flow smoothly, dashboards stay alive, and analytics systems stay reliable and fast.

You'll monitor, triage, and automate your way through complex data environments spanning
Kestra, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, APIs, and AKS
, keeping everything humming for our data scientists, analysts, and business teams.

If you thrive on operational excellence, love solving puzzles, and enjoy turning chaos into stability we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do

  • Run daily health checks across our data stack — from Kestra pipelines to Snowflake streams.
  • Triage and resolve incidents (L1/L2), using documented runbooks and sharp troubleshooting instincts.
  • Improve and expand operational runbooks to make recurring issues vanish.
  • Manage and track tickets in Azure DevOps; keep an eye on uptime and performance metrics.
  • Validate releases, handle rollbacks, and support maintenance windows.
  • Monitor data quality and schema drift — fix what's known, escalate what's new.
  • Act as the first responder for API or dashboard issues and coordinate resolution across teams.
  • Join post-incident reviews, identify root causes, and help us automate away future problems.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years in
    DataOps, Platform, or Cloud Operations
    for analytics environments.
  • Hands-on experience with
Kestra, dbt, Snowflake Tasks/Streams, Looker (or Honeydew), and APIs
    .
  • Familiarity with
    GitOps
(Azure DevOps YAML), and strong SQL/Python skills for debugging and automation.
  • Structured, analytical thinker with a documentation-first mindset.
  • Fluent in English (German is a plus).

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Work on a
    cutting-edge data platform
that impacts thousands of users daily.
  • Join a
    collaborative and growing team
that values reliability, innovation, and balance.
  • Enjoy
    hybrid flexibility
    — based in Bern with remote work possibilities.
  • Be part of a culture that encourages
    continuous improvement and smart automation
    over firefighting.
