Urgent requirement for a
Deputy Head of Global Physical Security
, based in
Basel, Switzerland
for a major financial institution.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply internal security procedures in line with regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Assess potential risks, identify security gaps, and implement preventive measures
  • Coordinate physical security activities with local representatives within a matrix structure
  • Provide expert support on security-related matters to domestic and international teams
  • Contribute to cross-border initiatives and projects focused on physical security improvements
  • Oversee and enhance physical security and safety standards across multiple locations
  • Collaborate with continuity, crisis management, and technology teams to ensure operational resilience
  • Deliver training and awareness programs for employees and security staff
  • Monitor security performance and ensure continuous improvement initiatives are in place

Requirements

  • Background in law enforcement, military, or a comparable security-related field, supported by higher education in security management or a related discipline
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in security operations, tactics, and technology within complex organisations
  • Proven involvement in security-focused projects and initiatives
  • Knowledge of physical security systems and infrastructure is an advantage
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate risks and identify synergies
  • Leadership capability with experience guiding small teams
  • Highly organised, resilient, and able to perform effectively under pressure
  • Proactive, hands-on mindset with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability
  • High professional integrity and strong ethical standards
  • Fluency in German and English; French language skills are a plus
