This Position reports to:

Sales Support Manager

Your role and responsibilities:

In this role, you will have the opportunity to gain vocational experience through a temporary work placement. Each day, you will acquire knowledge by performing tasks as directed. You will also showcase your expertise by supporting ABB's operations and enhancing personal education/employment opportunities.

The work model for the role is: #LI-Onsite

This role is contributing to Motion High Power in Untersiggenthal, Switzerland.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Contributing to the standardization of our product portfolio, with a focus on Load Commutated Inverter (LCI) converter systems
  • Supporting the dimensioning and design of medium-voltage drive systems, including transformers, converters, motors, and harmonic filters
  • Performing calculations, simulations, and feature mapping by collecting and organizing technical data
  • Collaborating in a multi-disciplinary and multicultural environment while gaining practical experience with real-world engineering challenges

Qualifications for the role:

  • Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiar with system design principles and basic knowledge about grid integration
  • Knowledgeable in power electronics, including AC/DC rectifiers and DC/AC inverters
  • Experienced with MATLAB for simulation and analysis
  • Motivated, results-oriented, and keen on learning
  • Equipped with effective communication skills, cultural awareness, and adaptability
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
