Our client is firma HD Hyundai Electric Switzerland. On behalf of our client, LHH Recruitment is looking for an experienced professional with over 8 years of work experience in high-voltage (HV) technology.

An ideal candidate for this position:

• Is a person, ideally an Electrical Engineer (EE) that knows the relationship between the interruption process inside the circuit breaker and the electrical details of the type of faults in the network.
• Is someone that can at least use one simulation tool (ideally 1D and/or Dielectrics) and is able to organize and assess results of many other different simulations done by experts. The focus here is much more on the capabilities of understanding simulation results from others rather than producing them.
• Is someone that is familiar with the IEC standards related to HVCBs

Job Responsibilities:

• Analyze data obtained from R&D testing to identify patterns, trends, and insights for product and technology improvement.
• Utilize advanced simulation tools, such as 1D simulation tools, to organize, perform, and manage parametric and sensitivity studies on design and optimization.
• Design, develop, and analyze high-voltage components, ensuring compliance with international standards and customer requirements.
• Maintain and improve simulation tools and models to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Participate in local initiatives related to artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) applied to R&D, exploring new avenues for innovation.
• Lead and support R&D projects focusing on environmentally friendly and digital High Voltage Circuit Breaker technologies, developing innovative solutions that drive the transition to a cleaner and smarter energy landscape.
• Represent the company in international committees, such as CIGRE, IEC, and IEEE, with opportunities to publish research papers and deliver presentations.
• Provide support to the global organization on topics related to your field of expertise, sharing insights and knowledge to drive collaboration across the company.
• Lead open innovation projects with external partners, fostering collaborative relationships and leveraging external expertise to drive breakthrough innovations.
• Coordinate projects with local and international universities and research institutes, collaborating with academia to advance research and development efforts.
• Conduct feasibility studies, develop new technical concepts, and simulate expected performances of new products.

Your Profile:

• Education background in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mechanical Engineering or a related field in Energy or Power Systems.
• Over 8 years of experience in the design of high-voltage circuit breakers
• Project experience with a strong emphasis on high-voltage circuit breaker technology.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage insulation and international standards.
• PMP or CAPM certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in 1D simulation tools and programming languages such as Python and/or VBA.
• Experience with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation methods and techniques is a plus.
• Knowledge of LCA-driven design principles and their application in energy systems.
• Fluent in English.
• Strong communication and intercultural skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
• Strong team spirit.

• Is not someone that has worked using the equipment, or in design of substations or electrical networks.
