Data Platform Engineer

IN SHORT

We're looking for a Data Platform Engineer %) in Zurich preferrably with MLOps expertise to build and scale our data infrastructure. You'll be the technical foundation enabling our Data & Insights value stream to deliver real-time dashboards, predictive models, and automated decision-making systems. 

Your mission: Build the data foundation for intelligent operations. You'll design and implement scalable data pipelines, ML infrastructure, and analytics platforms that turn our massive IoT and business data streams into competitive advantages through automation and insights.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Platform Architecture
Design and implement unified data platform architecture (data lake, data warehouse, streaming)Build scalable data ingestion pipelines for IoT sensors, transaction data, and external APIsImplement real-time data processing systems for operational decision-makingDesign data modeling and governance frameworks ensuring data quality and lineageMLOps & Model Infrastructure
Build ML model training, deployment, and monitoring infrastructureImplement automated model retraining and validation pipelinesDesign feature stores and model registry systemsCreate A/B testing frameworks for model performance evaluationImplement model monitoring and drift detection systemsAnalytics & Business Intelligence
Build and maintain analytics infrastructure supporting real-time dashboardsDesign data APIs and self-service analytics tools for business teamsImplement data processing workflows for business intelligence and reportingCreate data products supporting operational decision-makingData Operations & Quality
Implement data quality monitoring and alerting systemsDesign data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery proceduresManage data security, privacy, and compliance (GDPR)Optimize performance and cost of data infrastructure

YOUR PROFILE

4+ years of experience building scalable data platforms, pipelines, and working with data warehouse/lake architectures.Strong proficiency with cloud data services (Azure, Snowflake, DBT) and processing frameworks (Spark, Kafka, Airflow).Excellent skills in Python, SQL, and data modeling techniques.Nice to have: 2+ years of experience with the full ML lifecycle, including model monitoring, versioning, automated retraining, and feature engineering. (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch and/or MLflow, Kubeflow).Proficient with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), version control, and CI/CD practices.Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Pulumi, Terraform, CloudFormation).Understanding of API design and service-oriented architecture.Skilled at translating business requirements into technical solutions and an understanding of analytics and BI requirements.Knowledge of real-time analytics, stream processing, time-series forecasting, A/B testing, and data privacy regulations is beneficial.Strong communication skills in English (German and French are a plus).Non-smoker - we don't want you to smell like cigarettes, neither at work nor at customer meetings.
