Lead Engineer, Full Stack

The role requires being in-person at our office in Zurich during at least 2 days per week. We do not offer fully remote work options.

Why we need you:

We've built a family of products from a real-time deepfake detection API to native desktop apps (Electron & Swift) and a web-based platform. Now we need a hands-on Lead Engineer who scales the tech, and also scales how the team works together. You'll code, architect, set direction, translate between business goals and tech jargon, and lead by example, enabling a high-performing development team.

This role sits squarely between coding as an individual contributor and a coordination hub as an effective engineering leader. You own outcomes, unblock people, set standards, and make sure we move fast without breaking things - all while keeping an eye on the big picture.

What you will do:

• Own our tech stack end-to-end:

From Python APIs to ElectronJS and Swift desktop apps, and our web app/backend infrastructure (code reviews, CI/CD, testing, logging, observability, etc.)
- Accountable for and enabling a high-performance team:

Be accountable for for the work of a team of developers with responsibilities to coordinate and align developers, set clear expectations, and create an environment for efficient collaboration
- Design and build:

Architect scalable, maintainable, and secure systems across our codebase
- Be the translation layer:

Bridge business language, product needs, and technical implementation so everyone pulls in the same direction
- Lead by example:

Write clean, efficient, production-grade code across the stack
- Make it robust:

Define and enforce coding standards, architectural principles and set up the right dev processes, testing, and deployment pipelines
- Connect the dots:

Collaborate with product and AI teams to bring features to life fast and well

About you:

• Experienced builder in a similar environment:

3+ years building and deploying full-stack products end-to-end in an early-stage B2B SaaS startup.
- Engineering leader:

Proven experience leading and coordinating 3+ engineers or external developers, with ownership for outcomes. You know how to explain complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders and turn fuzzy ideas into executable plans
- Tech stack:

Solid with System architecture, Python, ElectronJS, and ideally Swift. Familiarity with Docker, AWS Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and serverless architecture is a plus.
- Mindset:

You know what "clean code" really means and how to avoid technical debt. Additionally, you can always see the big picture and relate daily work to it.
- MLOps awareness:

Experience deploying and maintaining ML models in production environments; understanding of model lifecycle and model-serving concepts
- AI-literate:

You don't need to train models, but you understand the fundamentals of AI/ML systems and can work closely with data scientists
- Startup-ready:

You're fast, resourceful, self-driven, enjoy taking ownership, and you can bring structure into an unstructured space

You are able to co-locate for at least two days per week in our office in Zurich.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with desktop app development (Electron, Swift) in production
• Exposure to real-time or audio-heavy applications
• Prior work in cybersecurity, voice tech, or fraud prevention
• Contributions to open-source or developer community
