The International Sales Director is a senior executive role with full accountability for the company's international commercial performance through indirect sales channels.

The position carries end-to-end responsibility for global sales strategy, distribution model design, leadership of international sales organizations, and long-term value creation across markets.

Reporting to top management, the role plays a central part in shaping growth trajectories, strengthening market positioning, and professionalizing international commercial operations.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Define, own, and execute the global international sales and distribution strategy, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and long-term growth ambitions.
  • Provide strong leadership to international subsidiaries and sales organizations, ensuring strategic consistency, execution discipline, and commercial excellence across regions.
  • Build, structure, and continuously optimize a global network of distributors, agents, and strategic partners, with full accountability for performance, profitability, and brand representation.
  • Deliver sustainable revenue growth, market share expansion, and margin improvement across international markets.
  • Lead, develop, and elevate senior sales leaders and teams, fostering a performance-driven, accountable, and collaborative culture.
  • Act as a strategic sparring partner to executive management on market dynamics, growth opportunities, structural risks, and portfolio priorities.
  • Represent the company at key international industry events, strategic client engagements, and high-level partner discussions.
  • Establish rigorous governance through structured business reviews, performance dashboards, and executive-level reporting on results, risks, and opportunities.

Scope & Strategic Responsibilities

  • Full ownership of international commercial budgets, forecasting, KPIs, and profitability management.
  • Negotiation and governance of international distribution agreements and strategic partnerships.
  • Leadership of cross-functional initiatives with marketing, finance, operations, and supply chain to support scalable growth and operational robustness.
  • Definition and execution of market roadmaps, ensuring disciplined implementation and measurable impact.

Executive Profile

  • Advanced degree in International Business or related field; MBA is a strong asset.
  • Minimum 10 years of senior international commercial leadership experience, with a strong track record in managing complex distribution networks and leading multicultural sales organizations.
  • Background in B2B2C environments such as consumer durables, tools, or industrial products is highly valued.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently deliver results in competitive, international contexts.
  • Strong strategic acumen combined with hands-on execution capability.
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills at executive level.
  • Fluent in
    English and German; professional proficiency in French
    is an advantage.
  • Comfortable operating in a multicultural, international environment with frequent travel (approx. 50%).
  • Leadership style characterized by pragmatism, decisiveness, adaptability, and a strong sense of ownership.
  • High sensitivity to brand value, product quality, innovation, and customer experience.
  • Strong digital and analytical literacy (CRM, BI tools, executive reporting).
