Electronic Engineer

Role summary

We are seeking a proactive and hands-on Electronic Engineer who can
make things happen
. In this role, you'll design, simulate, build, and test both analog and digital systems - turning ideas into working prototypes and validated hardware on rapid timescales. You'll combine creativity with precision, working in the lab test equipment, and advanced measurement setups to solve complex challenges in electronics, high-speed signaling, and optical systems. You will also contribute to developing automated lab test software and simulation setups.

Core responsibilities

• Specify, design, prototype and bring-up electronic circuits and systems (analog and digital)
• Simulate electronic circuits and PCB-level subsystems using appropriate tools (e.g. SPICE)
• Design and prototype printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), from schematic capture to layout and assembly, working with appropriate subcontractors.
• Hands-on problem solver: debug and characterization of electronic systems in the lab, using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, simulation tools and anything else necessary
• Conduct high-speed RF signaling validation and optical signal characterization.
• Develop and maintain laboratory automation software (e.g., Python).

About you

Must have:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
• Strong intuitive understanding of analog, digital and power electronics basic theory. Able to define and understand basic system performance based upon simple calculations
• Strong experience in circuit specification, design, layout, simulation, board bring-up and test
• Experience managing PCB design, fabrication, assembly and test subcontractors
• Electronics laboratory testing skills, including PCB surface mount assembly and rework, cable assemblies, basic mechanics and general hardware debugging.
• Proficiency with standard electronic lab equipment and test automation
• Experience with high-speed signaling and related test methodologies
• Familiarity with optical signal measurements and analysis
• Programming skills for embedded microcontrollers and laboratory equipment
• Open-minded, solution-oriented, and motivated to take on new challenges
• Self-starter and problem solver, capable of working from a defined goal to plan the activities needed, and deliver on them in an efficient and self-sufficient manner
• Enthusiasm to quickly learn and try new technical fields, tools, techniques
• Excellent written and spoken communication in English

Nice to have:

• Experience working with lasers and optics
• Experience with PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, KiCad, or similar)
• Experience with Python for lab test automation
• Knowledge of IC design using Cadence schematic, layout, and simulation tools
• Experience with circuit, PCB and electromagnetic simulation tools (SPICE, ADS, HFSS)
• Education/experience in Mechanical engineering, Software engineering, Signal processing, Optics, Photonics, Machine Learning, RF electronics
