The Opportunity
We're looking for a
Communications Immigration Legal Assistant (SIJS)
to join our remote team and support the growth of our SIJS department. This role is ideal for someone who's detail-oriented, empathetic, and thrives in client-facing communication. You'll be the main point of contact for clients, ensuring their questions are answered, their documents are organized, and their cases move smoothly through each stage.

Work Setup

  • Location: Fully Remote (Latin America)
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. PST
  • Compensation: $6.00+ USD/hour depending on experience

What You'll Do

  • Manage incoming and missed calls with professionalism and empathy.
  • Explain immigration case steps and required documents clearly to clients.
  • Maintain accurate notes and records of all client interactions in Clio.
  • Keep clients informed and updated throughout their immigration process.
  • Handle ongoing communication via calls, emails, and texts for all SIJS cases.
  • Collect and organize necessary documents and information from clients and third parties.
  • Schedule and confirm meetings, court dates, and consultations.
  • Coordinate information flow between attorneys and legal assistants.
  • Prepare cover letters, notices, and other client communications.
  • Open, maintain, and archive SIJS case files (digital and physical).
  • Provide additional administrative and case management support as needed.

Additional Details
This position requires extensive phone-based communication with clients. Candidates must be comfortable handling client interactions daily and maintaining professionalism in all communications.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and client service skills, especially over the phone.
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
  • Strong critical thinking and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient writing skills for immigration-related correspondence.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced, remote setting.
  • Reliable computer setup (laptop/PC, headset, stable internet min. 10 Mbps download / 5 Mbps upload).
  • Immediate availability to join the team.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in immigration law or legal administrative roles.

Salary Description

$6.00+ USD/hour depending on experience
