About the job

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Savoy, Zurich within the Food & Beverage Department in Zurich, the In Room Dining Supervisor is responsible for assisting and leading the In Room Dining team to always provide impeccable service to guests. The In Room Dining Supervisor reports to the In Room Dining Manager.

As In Room Dining Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following duties:

• Leading your own team and ensuring smooth and guest-oriented workflows in the in room dining operations
• Feedback and training of your team
• Taking and preparing orders by telephone
• Professional in-room serving of food and drinks
• Professional advice and customer care for our guests
• Excellent product and sales knowledge
• Deliver in room dining order to the guests in a timely manner, within the quoted time
• Check accuracy of order before delivering - be sure it is complete.
• Assisting and preparing all VIP amenities
• Ensuring guest satisfaction with the highest quality standards and professional handling of guest complaints
• Responsible for the correct accounting of your area
• Complying with hygiene regulations and cleanliness within the framework of the HACCP guidelines

As In Room Dining Supervisor , we expect from you:

• Completed vocational training in the upscale hotel or catering industry, ideally at least 2 years of professional experience in a similar position
• Leadership, organizational skills and the ability to lead a team of employees from different cultures with sensitivity and discipline
• Expressiveness, open-mindedness and team spirit
• Written and verbal communication skills - guests will come to you with both complaints and positive feedback
• High quality awareness and a sense for trends
• Good IT skills and knowledge of the Infrasys cash register systems and the SevenRooms booking system would be advantageous
• Excellent manners and well-groomed appearance, as well as a positive charisma
• Resilience and flexibility - your position will include night, weekend and holiday shift
• Very good knowledge of German and English. Further foreign language skills are an advantage
