Position Summary

A multinational organization within the agricultural science sector, headquartered in Basel, is seeking a
Digital Trade Compliance Analyst (f/m/d)
for a temporary assignment (80–100%) of at least two years. The role combines regulatory expertise with data-driven, digital compliance processes.

Main Tasks

  • Contribute to the correct classification of chemical products for international customs purposes
  • Assist in monitoring and documenting matters related to controlled substances
  • Work extensively with internal data systems, using analytical tools to evaluate information and generate structured reports
  • Support the rollout and development of digital solutions for trade compliance, including automation and AI-driven tools
  • Collaborate with colleagues across different regions and departments
  • Participate in various internal initiatives and improvement projects

Candidate Profile

Essential:

  • Solid understanding of chemical structures and chemical nomenclature (e.g., a university degree in chemistry or equivalent background)
  • Strong skills in Excel and experience working with databases
  • Excellent command of English

Advantageous:

  • Familiarity with global customs classification rules, such as the HS/HTS framework
  • Basic programming ability, with the capability to create simple scripts or automation tools
  • Previous experience in industries such as chemicals, pharmaceuticals, or agrochemicals
  • German language skills
